Cheltenham Tree Services Ltd endeavour to recycle all arisings created by their tree surgery operations. 90% of branch wood created is turned into woodchip which we recycle for you under this management plan. Larger diameter wood is processed for either the firewood or sawmill market. In 2005, Cheltenham Tree Services won multiple awards, including a Business Excellence Medal, awarded by Cheltenham Borough Council for their Environmental and professional commitment to recycle all of their arisings. Arising Conversion & Recycling
Conversion of material such as lengths of timber and branches are normally carried out on site. This is converted into woodchip through wood chipping machines. The woodchip is amassed at our local storage yard until we create sufficient tonnage to be economically viable to transport to the end user.
We have been supplying Biofuel companies with wood chip for over 20 years and we are the leading arb chip producer in the local area. Using wood chips from a sustainable source, to replace fossil fuels will reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
Cheltenham Tree Services, we endeavour to dispose of larger log wood to wood turning, sawmills and wood carving end users and the lower grade wood is put with fuel wood suppliers.
Wood chips can be used for:
- 90% of the woodchip we produce is directly inputted into a local biomass user to produce heat for chicken sheds and greenhouses.
- Older composted wood mulch can be used around the base of small or Veteran trees to increase the nutrients supplied to the tree, whilst helping to retain water moisture around the root
Cheltenham Tree Services endeavour to protect your environment in a calculated and professional way and have been doing so for over 30 years. Trees have a special resonance in our gardens, alongside our streets and parks. Urban Forestry is a functioning element of our eco-system. The management of which is undertaken by professionals such as ourselves. The woodchip biomass will help unleash the energy which is grown within our towns and cities.
As a company we use biodegradable chainsaw oil; albeit more expensive, it is far better for the environment than mineral oil.
We have eliminated this problem by using a lubricant from the company Plant Oil, which is made from pure Rape Seed Oil, a renewable source.
In recent years we have dramatically streamlined our paper usage in line with industry best practice.
